just a suggestion, but maybe you could add entities with randomized behavior? examples would be like a stalker type monster that hides in the distance, one that flat out chases you, one that hides around corners, scares you and then disappears, etc.

thanks :)

im considering putting something like that together.

i have one entity made which is quite unusual, you can experience it in the browser here: https://argondevilguiderods.itch.io/showroom

sorry it's taken me so long to reply, but the entity is is a bit tough to understand. does it kill you in a proximity to it?

can you make an option to turn off the overlay effect?

might ye be interested in the procedural jam?

https://itch.io/jam/procedural-jam-

I love this, and I have one thing to say as well

So I decided to play this on my pc, and went through various generations. I managed to find insanely bright generated areas, insanely gloomy generated areas, and I even found some tables and chairs placed around that have their own physics! And various types of architectural designs, this being Cylinder walls. To more space given areas.

I believe what you did was something known as Procedural generation, which was something I actually wanted to see in my own game. "It Steals: Classic +"

It is a fangame for a cool horror game known as It Steals, that had similarities to the backrooms. However it never had random generation like your project had.

My fangame, otherwise known as It Steals: Classic +. Is basically a improved variation of it steals, having different design choices, different Maze designs.

And it is made with Unity 2017, and as I played this project. Which I have been snooping around on for the past 5 hours, I thought. What if I had random level generation in my own game?

If you don't mind me asking, as I do not want to intrude. Do you want to help out my project get procedural/randomised level generation?

im sorry its taken so long to respond, but yes.. i would gladly help you :) if you still need it.

Ah thanks! Sorry for the late reply as well, I had some troubles with other things. If you want to help out, then my horror game has changed quite allot ever since this comment.

The game is now called [Project Labyrinth] and is still being worked on, if you would like to join the server where all the developers are at. Then you can join at: https://discord.gg/BwBST4DE :D

This was a really neat experience, quite different from other backrooms-type games I've seen/played. I played around with it after the first game in this video: https://youtu.be/7b36p85c7SE

Not bad, but I totally found a walk through walls glitch in the first 10 mins

Enjoyed your game, wandered a bunch. This Backrooms was a total acid trip. I liked getting new color schemes with each generation, some more painful to the senses than others, which adds new punishment to the maze. I'm glad I could kick around the chairs/tables, as that prevented complete insanity for at least a little while. A sprint option with a guaranteed exit for each generation would be great. Thanks for creating :)

Your game starts at 14:50. Lil Beef had too much fun changing up the backrooms over and over again. This was very slick and was great to poke around in. Keep up the good work!

great that you enjoyed it, loved the video a lot. ive not been making software for very long. so nice to see happy people playing. I can send you some download keys for other stuff on my page if you want to give me an email address or similar. either way thanks for having a go :)

"your an opening" LMAO

Really cool!
There is a small bug tho, well "bug"
If u have time, you can check your generation system, cause some wall overlap causing this weird effect. (Sometimes part of back one is on top, in the other frame the other. I guess you know what I am saying (in green level if colors are not random :v)).
Still its pretty frickin cool

hi, yes ive been trying to eliminate that. its an issue when 2 identical walls overlap.

Ill be taking care of it asap.

super annoying lol. thanks for reminding me of it.

for now... just pretend the entire place is haunted ;)

Ye, that's causing it, np :3

And yep, sure it's haaaaunted~

think its fixed now let me know if you encounter it again :)

maybe add sprinting? just 2x speed nothing insane

ill add that this week, its definately on the to-do list

the fps when looking at the middle is horrible, maybe dont draw the whole friggin map behind walls, the parts that we cant even see.

awesome project tho, id like a options menu. sensitivity setting at least.

oh the fps is better in the downloaded version. browser is bad.

it is now procedurally drawn. check da update

good idea for an horror themed game
